"Well that was dumb." Eithne said with a lot of disappointment in her voice. She was used to Eragos always summoning up battles as if they followed him around behind each cluster of trees in the wild or around every corner in a city. He could not have honestly summoned up battles, perhaps it was her. She did have quite the mouth on her, but when she had time to point it out she hardly said enough to instigate most of the fights they found themselves in. She certainly didn't summon up that dragon by messing up their titles or being a bitch to.. well it was in the past now.
She was just used to fighting her way through life and through every mission that got passed their way.
They were severely boring, but the point had been they were out in the open and none of them wanted to be any longer. Eithne would gladly welcome a warm fire and a cold drink which would warm her belly the moment she'd finished it. Maybe something to eat. She'd settle for something good to drink. And a place where she could smoke without getting sideways disappointing glances. She wasn't supposed to smoke around the lady, or was it just that the lady didn't approve of her smoking? She didn't know. She wanted a cigarette. She also wanted a nap. And then a fight. A nice long hit them where it hurts sort of brawl. Where she'd leave with a mouthful of blood, bruised knuckles, and the satisfaction that only a fight could give her.
She didn't know why Eragos didn't understand that. She felt much more alive when she was actually fighting to stay alive than she did riding on the back of a horse listening to a Lady guffaw like a mule would. Her tinkling laughter was like breaking glass or a fork against a plate. Eithne wished she'd bite her tongue and be silent for the rest of this. That would be nice. A dream really, that had no place here and if he'd known she was thinking it she'd probably end up polishing all of their saddles once they'd arrived at their destination.
