Aeotha made a noise as the Vel went off, it might have been in protest because the man had been begging, but it sounded as much like annoyance. She was blinded and Aeotha was forced to shut her eyes and push herself back to her feet. She couldn't see, but she could hear. Aeotha could hear Skandra shuffling, just as she could hear the hands above them on the door frame. She readied her staff. Hoping Skandra would find his feet alright without her. The man from above who had just watched his friend dropped into the room with a heavy thud. Skandra must have turned, but Aeotha had been waiting for that. She swung her staff out and met his chest with a hard swing. He made a sound of pain but only shuffled back a foot or two.
Aeotha opened her eyes, still blind, or rather still fuzzy. She wanted to curse Skandra for shooting it and blinding the both of them, but now wasn't the time to point out obvious things. She always warned him when she used her magic in the dark. If only he could have. Aeotha listened, standing as still as she could allow herself, which wasn't much, though she hardly made a sound on the ground. The man was breathing heavily, and she heard him reach for something, that's when she spun the staff again, slapping his hand away from his clothes. Jacket maybe.
"Are you stupid?" Aeotha said, to the man.
"Haven't you any idea that Skandra Tyullis just blew your friends head off?"
Aeotha could hear the heavier breathing, the angry sort of breathing. Loud and clear. Skandra shuffles and then Aeotha swung her staff widely, she thought the man would move again, and he did to avoid her, but in moving he'd given his position away, he wasn't close to Skandra anymore now, Aeotha blinked her eyes wildly, it was becoming clearer now. The blurred shape that wasn't Skandra. Aeotha moved when he swung for her, and slammed the butt of her staff into his chin.
