Aeotha stared at him and tried to make herself look calm even when she was anything but calm. Aeotha was ready to step across the way and slap him, maybe that would wake him up. He had lost his temper and was lashing out at her. If it had been someone else thinking of destroying the world, and they'd heard the same story from people not related to him he would have been thinking the same way she was thinking. It wasn't fair to be mad at him, even if he was basically yelling at her, he didn't deserve her anger. He didn't deserve her judgement either. Aeotha let her hands fall to her sides and relaxed her shoulders. She felt as if she was still ready to pounce, but her body didn't look it anymore. Aeotha had to take a few deep breaths.
"Was a lovely fellow." Aeotha said quietly. Maybe because she wanted to remind him that her father was already long dead. Long dead. Aeotha felt the bite of tears in her eyes but shook it off as she stared up. They were slowly moving up.
Aeotha wanted to tell him that it did matter. That killing his father was a harsh mark on his soul. Not that he believed in such things. And Shantar? What would Shantar do if Skandra killed Gershul? They were bound by blood, and maybe it was a thin bond to Skandra and gershul, but it seemed important to Shantar. Would his grandfather ever forgive him if he killed his father? Aeotha felt sick that she could even relate to the man who wanted to destroy the world. That she hated in a way someone who was such a.. monster hated.
But it was a choice, wasn't it? Just because she hated someone, and hated her lot in life a little more than the average person, didn't mean she wanted the world to be destroyed. She wanted it fixed. She wanted to march into Astarii and convince the King that his closest Knights were wolves in sheep's clothing, and nearly all of them would love to take that crown from his head. She wouldn't, of course, Astarii was too far from her now. She was too removed from the favor of the King, and too removed from the friends she had there to hope to lean on any of them for support.
No, her purpose in the world now was to spread the word, to fight for those that couldn't fight for themselves and to..
