Aeotha felt every bit of fear as she stared at the inky darkness the soldier's were pointing at. Calling for them to move. Aeotha did not want to move, whatever it was that was coming would find them on the face of the rock no matter what they did, but she had to climb now. She could only hope that fear would not still her limbs so that it would be impossible to climb. She only took the time to nod to Ilúvatar before she began climbing. The sounds from above, and those from behind them kept every hair on the back of her neck standing on end. It wasn't that she was not brave, but she could not help but feel afraid. All of them were afraid.
Even the steeled face of every last of the king's chosen knights had to be afraid too. Had to be. Thankfully the fear did not overtake her. Every hand found a crevice in which to use, her feet hardly slipped. Perhaps all those years spent climbing trees as a child had come to some use after all. Then it had been to see those vaster cities which she could only hope to see up close one day. Then to see the lay of the land which the small settlement of Kusanar could not see through their thick trees from the ground.
The peaceful thought was enough to keep her going for the first leg of the climb, but now she took the chance to look down and saw that Ilúvatar had not moved to climb yet. Her foot slipped from it's place and she dangled by her arms for a moment before she scrambled back onto a good foothold.
"Ilúvatar! Come on!" She yelled, but the elf seemed not to hear or, or if he did he didn't seem to care. Was he waiting for what was coming? After telling her no? Aeotha would have scowled if the noise from their party wasn't growing louder and more insistent that they keep moving. Eibhear was going to overtake her in climbing if she didn't begin climbing again... But Aeotha felt as if she were made of lead then. With Ilúvatar down there ready to face whatever was coming.
"Don't stand there! Climb with us!" She called desperately. They needed him. He couldn't sacrifice himself for this when they needed every fighter they could keep. Their number was already too small for comfort, and now.
After he'd told her not to stay?
Aeotha locked her eyes on Eibhear. She was going to go back down. Already she was looking for a way back down. It was not nearly as easy as up. The drop would only serve to injure her from here.
