"I would feel better with a few nights of rest, the next down is much more than a day's ride. But if it is not for you to decide Sir Horon then I shall speak with her." Vedette slid easily from the saddle and curtsied for the knight. "But thank you for helping us at least stay tonight. We are in your debt." She stood straight and tall again. It was not a position she was used to, speaking for someone else. Humans had that odd idea that certain people were more important then the next. But then Dragons did have some leaders. Just not.. it wasn't the same.
Vedette took her saddlebag from the house and hefted it over her shoulder, as she started towards the inn, and the woman who was standing there waiting for them.
Gold Crown. Vedette was still very poor with money. She didn't earn much of it. Her work normally was just for trade. She fashioned arrows and restrung bows in exchange for a place to sleep and food to eat. Or she traded a fine fur pelt from far away for some money to pay for her next stay. But mostly she relied on friends. Humans did seem to collect friends and she enjoyed that. They enjoyed her strange stories of living in the mountains of a place they'd never heard of.
When Vedette had reached the door she also curtsied to the girl there in it. "I am Vedette Uthral, I thank you so much for your kindness in allowing me and my assistant to stay here in your inn." She was trying to be as polite as possible. But she kind of wished Horon would leave already so that she could stop announcing Koe as her assistant.
