"I certainly haven't talked to one!" she declared.
"Oh, really? I wasn't accusing you of being some sort of lizard-whisperer."
He laughed at that but stifled it with half a mug of stout. At any moment he was going to get her to be quiet so he could lean back into his bench and fall asleep in front of the fire.
"Or maybe it just didn't see us, since the orcs are bigger and everyone was running around in a panic."
