It was as if it happened in slow motion. The moment Pathacles' name came up a grimace slid onto her face. An always sore spot for Ithacles. One did not just mention his brother lightly around him, unless Ithacles started it of course. A Joke, a story, but never ever like this. Vedette caught his sleeve as quickly as she could, but almost missed. She had one arm around him before he was yelling at her. When he pushed her off she let him go, and quickly. She did not want to get on his bad side as she enjoyed her teeth where they were. She shot a look at Alvon, and then tore out of the room after Ithacles.
That great fool. Lead him in, not drop it on him. That idiot. Humans were the most useless creatures in the world. Where was the compassion? Didn't he know? How could he not have. When Vedette entered the hall Ithacles had just delivered a hip-toss to one of the soldiers there that hadn't moved out of his way fast enough. Quickly she was crouching down to help the man up. Gave him a quick apology, then she was off again.
"Don't! What if Lethe was keeping this from everyone, not just you! He's sick, you shouldn't bother him Ithacles!" Vedette wasn't the fastest runner, she was much faster flying. Part of her wanted to frost the floor and make him fall flat on his face. The rest of her wanted answers too.
She could hear someone behind them, or people, she couldn't tell right then.
She just didn't want to see what would happen if Ithacles yelled his way to Ithunvel.
