Vedette hesitated, she didn't really want to run into anyone today, and thought she'd succeeded until the wine ran out. Now she had someone in front of her, and it was someone she trusted as much as she could. And someone she cared for. But this day wasn't one she shared with many.
She eyed the drink in front of him rather than looking at him.
"Oh, just the day I was born." She shrugged. It really meant little to her on a broad scale. She didn't want gifts or praise. She wanted something far grander and something she could never get.
