Vedette visibly relaxed. She needed to remember that this man, no matter how coarsely he spoke, or how foul he may have seemed beside a man of honor such as Ithacles, was still a friend of the kingdom. A friend of Ithacles, and normally an honored guest, at least if they did not count Lethe among them. She enjoyed not including Lethe because Lethe was the most annoying person in the whole of Faustben. Vedette's mouth which had been a straight displeased line broke into a smile when Ithacles turned to glare at Skandra.
"I haven't been allowing him to drink, I apologize if he's grumpy." And so they started to walk out of this hellish hole known as a jail. Skandra's voice was low enough for the humans that were here, they could hardly hear him. Vedette and Ithacles on the other hand had very good hearing. Not that Skandra had any idea she was anything but human. The talk turned her blood very cold. The goal was the king. If they hoped to dethrone Lord Ithunvel, or kill him. They'd have a lot of trouble on their hands.
"Captain Baldvas knew about this?" Her voice was very soft, but it was only the sharp edge of her anger. Was no one else arrested with him? She wanted to have a talk with the other captain. The big idiot.
But, as with everything in the human world it was very complicated. If she had a talk with the other captain and accused him it would be a duel to the death and she didn't feel like killing any captains today. Lord Ithunvel did hate when she made some of his officers look like children when it came to fighting.
"We should go outside and away from prying ears, then. And then I can get you something for your head." She was sure Ithacles would offer a drink, but Vedette at least could offer something that would ease the swelling and perhaps ease some of the pain that was not in the form of a beverage.
