Vedette did not cringe she stood there staring at the princess with unblinking eyes, a skill she'd learned as a child. It normally stopped people from yelling but instead of that Lethe just kept on going.
"What were you thinking! You're suppose to protect and keep him in check, not wine and dine him! Not dance the night away! You're here for a job! You're suppose to lead him right into the hands of the next girl if he didn't like the first one! I am not amused by this! If you can't do a simple job please DO tell me and I'll send you to the furthest outpost I can and you can spend the rest of your days in our service freezing up there in the northern pass!"
It did not help that Vedette was thinking of how easy it would have been to shut Lethe up by suddenly becoming a dragon before her eyes. She was not a mere servant, but she did pledge her life to Ithunvel and his. Ithacles was not only her charge but her friend.
Vedette was so angry in that moment that she might have slapped the Princess if Lethe didn't continue yelling. She was getting red in the face, and obviously cold. Vedette herself was right at home with the cold.
"Stop fooling around. Stop dancing with him. Go inside and stand at the wall and do not move until I tell you to again!"
