The smile happened so suddenly that Vedette couldn't stop it from coming. But she did not laugh, that would have been horrible. But she smiled and watched him carefully. She didn't want to appear to be staring at him, even if she was. He was about the only person in the room that she could call a friend. And now, more than ever, he needed her there.
Especially with the way he was talking.
"Drink some water. Focus on eating more, and leave the wine alone." She said under her breath, knowing he'd hear her.
Plates were now being placed in front of them and Vedette let out a sigh of satisfaction. Finally they were on to meat, and if he needed more of hers to settle his stomach then she would share. Tonight wasn't even nearly over. Four hour dinners follows by 4 hour balls.
