She couldn't take this much longer, the more the mage did, the harder it was for her to hold her human form. The next spell was a blast of fire, bigger than the first, like a huge fireball that had suddenly came to life inside the cave. It was meant to kill her, but the minute it got close enogh her shield doubled in size to cover her body completely in what looked to be an inch thick wall of ice. She was trapped in it, but only long enough that the spell flickered out of life, and she was out of it and running at the mage. As she ran she dropped her bow, and her arrows, and inside she held one hand beside her head as if she was about to spear the man.
It wasn't far from the truth, as she closed the distance a sudden flash in her hand formed into a spear of ice, it's point as fine as diamonds. The mage's eyes widened as his mouth flew open to cast a spell, but before he could do that she drove the ice spear through his chest and down they both went into the fire. Every coal seemed to make her skin scream, but instead of angry red marks, what seemed to be left was a shining white. But it was hard to tell what was actually happening. Te silver scales masked only by the heavy clothes she was wearing on her person.
The mage let out a yell, but it died away as the mage himself died. Vedette rolled off of him and out of the fire. She turned her head to look for Ithacles, her face a beautiful while with silver hints and speckles. But the moment she was free of it all her face returned to normal and she got to her feet with a stagger.
