He was breathing hard worn from the climb. Vedette hadn't broken a sweat or appeared to breath hard until he appeared to be. She had to blend in after all. Her breath barely hung in the air, but she breathed harder, as if worn out from the climb and dusted the snow from her shoulder and face. She needed to appear human, and normal at that. But she was enjoying this, not only because she was in her element, but because she finally had a chance to defend the country she'd sworn to protect. She could smell the men from where she was, but would wait until Ithacles was ready to make the final climb to the cave.
"No, they appear to be quite capable of climbing and scaling mountains. If I didn't know better I'd accuse them of being mountain goats in disguise." Mountain Goat. A delicious creature, once you got around the fur.
He was looking up and around. Finally he started up again, and this time Vedette followed him closely. Her hands finding holds around where his knees were as they climbed. When he finally reached the last landing he turned around to reach out to help her. Vedette took his gloved hand firmly in her own and pulled herself up with his help. This time she was breathing hard, but for another reason. The prince had just climbed a mountain with her, and kept up despite the obvious disadvantages his body had against cold. It was an attractive quality, that determination.
"They are all armed, I saw at least one of them with a sword, and from what we could tell from the break ins one of them is a mage, fire, I believe." The mouth of the cave was not too far from them, but the roar of wind could hide their voices easily enough. She finally let go of his hand, and took a small step back. She was looking at the mouth of the cave now, in quite a weary way. She hadn't gone in the cave before, and hadn't been inside one since..
Now she was not so sure about doing this. What if it collapsed? What if..
