"Thank you." She smiled. She was proud of her archery, she bowed her head in thanks before looking at him again.
"I watched it two years ago, I found it interesting. So many people showed up and some of them simply could not aim." But she was not a resident then, she wasn't even known as Vedette then. She simply blended into the crowd to watch it. She wanted to compete but her father had thought it best that they just watch. They had, and then her father had sat in a tavern with a bunch of human and drank himself into a stupor. Her mother had laughed for hours afterwards. Vedette on the other hand found it embarassing. The memory was happy, and yet..
She adjusted the bow over her shoulder and folded her coat over an arm.
"I'm sorry we didn't have it. I think something happy, something to distract everyone from what happened might be a good break. So many without their homes, without family. But, really what would I know about it. I've never had an entire country watching me." She smiled briefly.
