Vedette was still surprised that Ithunvel trusted her at all. She was a dragon, and no man that knew that would have trusted her. They all believes that dragons were bloodthirsty beasts. Some went so far as to believe that dragons actively sought out villages just to eat their inhabitants and kill any that remained once their hunger had been satisfied. She'd never met a dragon that had ever done that. She'd never met a dragon who had ate a human. As far as Vedette was concerned, they didn't look like a good meal. They were either mostly fat, or mostly muscle, and there wasn't much to them. Not to mention they were too intelligent to eat.
Vedette gave a look over her shoulder. Somehow she'd managed to fall back and still keep her bow on. A small quiver of arrows was at her side, and because it only held to left from her practice she could show him. "I could show you." She turned then, and unshouldered her bow. She pulled one of the arrows out and looked over her shoulder a moment. He was watching her, interested. It made her smile. She nocked the arrow and stood facing a tree that was far off. "I'll aim for the tree." She watched, and waited. Standing there, she could hear the wind, feel it on her face. She adjusted her stance and without blinking let the arrow fly.
It went straight and true for the most part, the wind was thankfully predictable, and just as quickly the arrow struck the tree and embedded in the bark. "I could do better, but I only have my short range bow with me." She turned back around. "I've been here since.." But she couldn't even say it then. "Lord Ithunvel took me in.." She explained, trying to smother what sadness had crept into her.
