It was easier said than done to stop crying, so she allowed herself a few more tears before she choked them back. It wasn't going to help in the situation, and there would be plenty of time to cry later—she was allowed it as a girl, a pregnant one at that.
"You won't send me away?" She calmed down and settled in her seat. They would be in Atlanta soon enough assuming they had a smooth ride. "I assume there will be a doctor?"
She wiped her eyes and cheeks. "Tom, what will happen to me and the baby? They seemed to be...quite interested in you. I suppose they're more interested in you than they would in just a normal soldier? I don't suppose you can tell me what all is going on?"
