The fog remains, continuing to shroud the outside of the hotel for a third week in a row. The vast Library under the Neitherlands has disappeared, replaced by the regular library of the third floor. As usual, all rooms have been suitably turned down, and the kitchen and lounge are fully restocked, though the clothing has not been laundered.
It looks like it’ll be another quiet week, that is, until you look in the mirror and notice you aged ten years overnight.
Mod Notes:
Starting on Day Two, ten years will pass biologically for your character each night. Example: Humans and other mortals who are normally a teenager in game, will start day one their normal age.. Day two, they’ll be in their twenties. Day three in their thirties, etc.
There are characters who don’t age. These characters will continue to stay impervious to aging like everyone else and watch helplessly as everyone around them loses another ten years of life each day.
There are also characters in the game that start off considerably older. No regular human character may age past 110 years of age (though they are more than welcome to die earlier than that). Characters who have longer lifespans than a normal human will remain living as appropriate to their biology. It’s very possible they will age to death before the week is out! Or not!
There will be opportunities for your character to not slowly age to death by stealing back those ten years from another. Whether your character follows through or not will be up to them. (And whether they’re successful is, of course, up to player consent.) To receive an opportunity to steal the life force from others and survive the week, please contact BB who is running this plot.
For Fun
Please feel free to imagine what your character’s clothing, hair and other details look like ten years each decade they age. It doesn’t have to remain the same if you think your character would have made some changes to their appearance had they naturally aged ten years in the hotel or in their homeworld.
If You Do Not Want To Participate In This Plot
Any character you wish not to experience this plot can simply remain asleep after the clock chimes. They will not need to eat or drink, and nothing will wake or harm them over the course of the plot. Feel free to write AU scenes with these characters in the form of dreams (labeled properly in the scene heading). Sleeping characters cannot use the PDA network.
If Your Character Dies During This Plot
They will not wake up healed and alive until the next plot- however, if you still wish to write them, they can wander the hotel as a vengeful spirit.
Rules for Vengeful Spirits
They are always angry. The angriest they can possibly be. Spirits in the hotel are not helpful, or funny, or thoughtful, or mopey- they are furious, and they want to take their anger out on the living- preferably those that killed them, but they usually aren’t picky.
They can appear anywhere in the hotel, even behind doors that aren’t theirs. Spirits move by think-teleporting, meaning they decide to go somewhere, poof, they’re there, even if it’s five feet in front of them.
Spirits are not corporeal (meaning they are intangible, however can work up some telekinetic force in short bursts. Spirits cannot kill the living with this force by itself, though they can shove the living off balconies, or throw heavy/sharp objects at them.
These regulations will be added to the permanent rules; even after this plot, anyone killed inside the hotel can become a Vengeful Spirit until they wake up again.
Spirits cannot cross over lines of salt, and can be dispelled by contact with iron. If a ghost is attacked by an iron weapon, they will dissipate and have to ‘collect’ themselves somewhere else in the hotel.
For the sake of keeping things consensual and uncomplicated, spirits cannot possess other hotel guests. They can, however, possess (normal) inanimate objects and creep other guests out. Things that cannot be possessed by ghosts include: PDA’s, magical items such as the Clock, Rowena’s wand, Claire’s sword, Negan’s flask, ect.
Spirits cannot use the PDA network.
Any inherent powers a person may have while alive are not available to them as a vengeful spirit. They are bound by these guidelines.
IMPORTANT: Please remember that ALL interactions during this plot must be by Player Consent. You may not steal 10 years of life or kill another character until players have explicitly given their permission. Comment to this post explaining which of your characters are available for death, or not. Also, please put ALL your scenes under a cut tag, and label them with proper warnings. Also post your plot-specific questions here.
If you have any questions about this plot, please contact the mods via email or AIM or gtalk or dachshund delivery service.
