I'm 33, married, socially liberal but fiscally conservative, and if pressed to identify myself politically, it'd be Libertarian. In college, I'd planned to be an economist and then jumped ship to Classics and archaeology, making me an ex-archaeologist with a continued interest in Classics and Mediterranean art and archaeology. I can still read Homer in meter, but my modern Greek is limited to ordering food, hailing a cab, and ah, swearing. I've worked on two excavations in Greece (Athenian Agora & Isthmia) and an architectural project in Western Turkey (Assos/Behramkale), all in the 1990s. Also, I'm cheating and taking much of this from my profile, haha!

I enjoy roleplaying (I have a list of some of my RP journals here), icon making, writing, and journaling. Although I've been involved in various fandoms, I mainly write and RP orginal characters right now. If something scares me, I try to do it to get over my fear -- so of course, because I was afraid of dogs, we got an English Mastiff. I used to think posting to communities was scary too, so consider this part of therapy. ;D I also love cut tags! There should be a National Cut Tag Day.

Most of my journal is public, and chances are that if you friend me I'll friend you back since I like meeting new people. I'm not especially religious, but I will gladly respect your opinions and beliefs so long as you respect mine and those of the other people who might post in my journal. And I don't expect people to always agree with me either, since that would make a lame, boring world indeed! But I do ask that you be at least eighteen, since I do sometimes discuss some very explicit things.
