Hi, I'm Laura, I'm twenty and live in England.

I use this journal to post fanfiction and generally write about things that are going on in my life, however dull they may be to others. I friends-lock the personal stuff in my journal, though, so only fanfiction is generally viewable by everyone - for someone who posts on an internet journal, I can be quite private, too.

Fanfiction wise, I write for the Monkey Island games, Pirates of Dark Water, Animals of Farthing Wood, Battle Royale - the majority of what I write does seem to come from obscure fandoms, so I don't blame anyone for not being familiar with any of those names (except Battle Royale, I imagine).

I've just dropped out of university (I wasn't enjoying my course) and am re-doing my exams so I can re-apply to a different university in a few years time. My main passion, when it comes to studying, is foreign languages. I've always loved Spanish but am currently studying French and Mandarin Chinese in my own time.

Some other random interests -

- I regularly play computer games but mostly have stuck to older games that I've been in love, or slightly obsessed with, since I was a kid. The games I play the most are - the Monkey Island series, Sam and Max, Simon the Sorcerer, the Creatures series, Unreal, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, Tomb Raider, and the Resident Evil games.
- I'm a HUGE fan of horror films. I appreciate the classic, well-made horror film but I also go right down and appreciate the poorly-made laugh-inducing gore fests. Sometimes, though, I just like strange films for the sake of their strangeness.
- I also really like foreign cinema. My favourite non-English film is, Time of the Gypsies.
- My favourite TV shows are/were before they were cancelled: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, America's Next Top Model, Futurama, American Dad, Spawn, Bottom, The Young Ones and Scrubs.
