Characters: Barney and Stella Setting: the Trophy room Tuesday at 3 O'clock (after Transfiguration) Rating: pretttty mild Summary: teaching Barney to dance Status: Incomplete
It really was very nice of Stella to offer to teach him to dance, Barney thought. There were a lot of nice people in the world and some of them weren't even Hufflepuffs. Stella was one of those lovely people who was nice as well as smart, and she was friends with his dorm-mates too. That all made her very easy to hang out with. They had agreed that she would teach him to dance a while ago, but not really gotten around to schedule it until now. The beginning of term was always tricky, with teachers keen to pile homework on you, friends to reconnect with, and timetables to figure out, but they had eventually been able to find a time they could both make it and arranged to meet in the trophy room. It was a big enough space to dance in, and was usually empty during class time. Barney had had most of the day off - Tuesdays were his quiet day - but he made sure he didn't forget by doing his studying in front of a clock and making an effort to be early. When he got there he sat on one of the little benches in the room and waited patiently for Stella to arrive. She had Transfiguration, so she would be coming straight from class, he thought - unless she needed to change or something. That thought made Barney suddenly anxious. Should he have changed? He always chose clothes he could move easily in, so he ought to be able to dance in them, shouldn't he? Barney was just standing up to check he that could do a few moves in the clothes he was wearing when Stella came in.
"Hi!" he exclaimed straight away, bounding over in his Barney way to greet her. "Are my clothes okay for dancing? Do I need to wear something else?"
