Hi, guys! My name is Callirhoe and I have an addiction to picking up new characters, apparently. I AM SORRY. This is my last kid here, though, I swear, and you can hit me if I look like I'm about to break that promise. :)

So, this is Jean-Paul Beaubier. I know that he was played before, but since my version of him is very different from the previous one, I think it's probably best to handwave that and start fresh. He'll be brand new at the school, as of... tonight, actually, I think, since that makes sense, and I'll be putting up an intro narrative for anyone who wants to meet the new kid. :) In brief, though, he's 19, a college student, and from Québec, Canada (though he will give you the evil eye if you say he's Canadian, because he is a fervent Québec separatist and doesn't consider his homeland part of Canada). If your character follows winter sports, they've probably heard of Jean-Paul -- he was a junior world champion for two years, qualified for this year's Olympic Games and had a lot of international buzz about being the one to beat in his events -- but just after qualifying he caused a scandal by announcing that he was ending his skiing career in order to pursue his education. He then disappeared (which, let's face it, is a whole lot easier when you can run ten times faster than anyone around you) and has spent the past several months training with the Canadian superhero Guardian, and has now come to Xavier's to continue his training.

His number one character trait is arrogance, followed closely by cynicism. But all that aside, he's actually a pretty interesting person to hang around, and he's fairly okay at being social. He's gay, which hasn't been publicized in the media but which he has no problem with people around him knowing, so I'm sure that will come out (NO PUN INTENDED) fairly quickly. Um, other than that, idk. Let me know if you have thoughts and stuff. :)

Regan and the [last] Jean-Paul got along pretty well as BFFs. She was basically his sassy fag hag and loved him to pieces, and I'd totally be game that type of interaction again. I think they'd get along well, despite each others arrogance, there's some comfort in like mindedness. They can be bitchy together towards everyone else. Thoughts?

Julian took flying lessons from Northstar and saw him as a mentor in canon. If you want to work something out with that, let me know :)

I could definitely see Regan as the sort of person Jean-Paul could get along with. He likes bitchy people because they're at least interesting, and, yeah, they do have that in common :) Sounds good to me!

Aww, I'd love it for JP to have someone look up to him. He's pretty awesome at flying, if he says so himself (which he will, because the kid is just that secure in himself), and I think he'd be interested enough to work with Julian, if you like. That could be really cool for him, actually.

BFFS~!! Regan loves her JP. We'll have to plan a meeting between them, and let the budding friendship begin~ I assume she'll catch wind that he's arrived at the school, and is a big shot athlete, and approach him one day privately to size him up. She'll probably start off thinking, "mm mm!" and go towards "hmm hmm!!" and then "omfg were have you been all my life, bff."

Julian should run into Jean-Paul outside flying around. He'll think his moves are totally slick, and approach him, trying to be all 'cool' and assert himself. He'll ask him, in a roundabout way, if JP can show him some moves. He'll look up to him in a way, as the way cooler college kid and gloat in the mentorship with an almost-Olympic athlete.

Yes, definitely! Soon-ish would be great because ha, I think this is going to be fabulous. Or maybe during/after the Tabula Rasa plot? Whatever you like, really. I'm around and available. :)

That would be awesome. We can plan on getting J and JP flying together like... after the Tabula Rasa thing is over? I think that'd probably be best as far as timing goes. I think JP would get a kick out of being the teacher and the ~superior~ one -- I mean, he already knows he's superior to most everybody here, but it's great to have it acknowledged. LMAO!

I'm torn between going the route with Regan, comfort in like-mindedness with Remy and JP, but at the same time, I see them butting heads. Somewhere in the middle, maybe? They can pitch their two very different sorts of French at each other, no one will ever be able to follow their conversations. XD

Vanessa probably won't get much of a chance to really approach him to ask to copy powers before she runs off, so we'll probably have to see how they interact after the Weapon X stuff. Jay might not have much in the way of interaction with him, either.

Sean always looks forward to meeting new students.

I think you're probably right that JP and Remy would butt heads, being waaay too much alike. :P But I think JP would 1) find Remy quite attractive and 2) find him amusing in his incredible heterosexuality, so like a friendly sort of butting heads? Also, yes, it would be incredibly funny for them to jabber at one another in French, so they definitely should. ;)

Either way! Jean-Paul is incredibly indifferent to most people unless they catch his interest, so we can just see what happen, really. :)

I can see them agreeing early on to only speak French to each other, simply because it irritates the people around them. Remy might also have to learn who he is pretend-homosexual around. XD It worked with straight Bobby, but he might call JP cher a couple of times and see where that goes. XD But so painfully heterosexual right now, trying to bed every female in that mansion.

	OMG, yes, for sure, they'd totally speak all French. That would be so awesome. <3 And if Remy flirted with him, JP would prooobably be interested and follow suit. He'd totally mack on Remy. Bobby knows who he is, though he won't geek out as much because it's skiing. But at the same time, he might go above and beyond with his patience to try and interact with JP just to say "he knows the guy." Bobby's usually pretty persistent and has that Kryptonite of wanting to be liked by everybody, even people who clearly may never.

Warren and him might get along, unless JP is put off by a snobbish rich boy. He's also no stranger to a little bit of fame and I have yet to mention how Smoking Hot the winged wonder is. He likes to walk around shirtless sometimes. Ahem.

Rahne and Neena are also college students, so they'll likely be there to interact with JP. Not sure what will come of that, but Neena has a bold personality and Rahne is kind of the opposite and could be walked all over. Whatever Jean Paul wants to do.

Sofia loves you and she doesn't even know you.

Awesome! I think they could get along, actually, if only because JP will find him interesting. There are some points in canon where JP has a crush on Bobby. I don't know how intense that would be, but we can see what happens!

Um, JP appreciates good-looking men, so I imagine he'll like Warren. Plus, he's himself a rich boy (okay, not THAT rich, definitely not on Warren's level, but I imagine he's earned a fair amount in sponsorships and so on his skiing career -- he's a self-made man of sorts), so he can't really hold that against him. :)

AND I guess we can see how he interacts with the girls? I mean, he's pretty indifferent toward most people, but that could change at any time depending on whatever happens between them.

I am all for JP crushing on Bobby, just because I love throwing my kids into anything. They could always bond over winter sports and opinions of past Olympics. I can have Bobbo give JP the wrong impression somehow too about things. Ahem. You know, because I'm evil.

Warren will appreciate someone else that has that 'enculturation' to them that travel and money seem to bring. Right now he and Regan just sit on their crystal thrones, all alone.

LOL, all your GIRLS. He's like "they are useless things." :P But I think actually he'd be fairly interested in both Sooraya and Logan. Sooraya probably not in a NICE way, because Québec is probably the Canadian province that has the least positive view of Islam, and he's very Québec-ian, or however you would say that. I doubt that he'd actually say anything disapproving to her, as he really couldn't care less how other people choose to spend their lives even if he thinks they're really stupid choices, but that's something.

And Logan because, um, JP mentioned in some comic or other how he likes a man with hair on his chest. I think he was half-joking and half-serious about that, but he really has no shame and very little sense of propriety, so he might say something in Logan's hearing to that effect, just to see what happens. He'd be like "~animal magnetism~!", lol, and just be ridiculous. Alternately, he and Logan prooobably know some of the same people, both being Canadian and all? That might be a stretch, but I could see Logan being familiar with Guardian and his team (Puck, Shaman, Snowbird, Sasquatch... uh, I can't think of the rest, I AM LAZY, I'll look it up later) or random Canadian people. IDK. That's all I've got. :3

Sooraya won't react any differently to him than anyone else, really. She respects male authority figures, and is rather shy and reserved with the rest. So unless they were partnered up for a training exercise or something, I don't see them interacting much? But we can brainstorm something!!

I think that would be completely amazing. Logan would have NO IDEA how to react. He'd have a total o_o face.

Kurt would definitely be a little unnerved by JP's homosexuality, but he won't treat him badly because of it. No ultimate Kurt here XD

Jono is very "whatever" about JP, as he is most people. Especially because JP is the arrogant, rich, pretty boy type, which is he isn't terribly fond of.

Josh, fellow college student. In the room right next door to JP. If JP is a partyer at all they will definitely enjoy his company over in B009. Otherwise he will probably end up telling Josh and Alex to STFU fairly often as they are usually yelling at the X-Box, having a ton of people over, etc.

And Pietro arrogant speedster rivalry y/y? :D

Oh, good! I think JP would think Kurt is sort of funny/weird. He honestly doesn't care what people, particularly religious people, think of him.

I think Jono would interest JP a bit, if only because he's very out of the normal even in this freakshow school. :P He'd be really curious about the mechanics of his body and how he does stuff and whether he can have sex and how he keeps his girlfriend if not. SORRY, JONO.

I think he'd get along fine with Josh and Alex on a surface level. And he'd come over to their room to watch them play video games or persuade them to play Shaun White Snowboarding or something instead of those shooter games, which he doesn't really like. Alternately, he'd come over to hit on Bobby and make him feel uncomfortable. :P

And that would be awesome with Pietro! Although JP is so arrogant he wouldn't think there'd be a contest. He's like, dude, I can fly, how can you possibly be cooler than me? ;)

So! I am slow to join the welcome wagon, many apologies, but hi anyway! Also, your pb. I have no idea who that tasty young man is, but I want him. Like, right now, at my door.

Just my lone pup, John, probably won't see much interaction with JP. He's more or less indifferent to most people anyway, but he will sometimes go out of his way to pick at the snobbish rich boy types. On the other hand, I can almost see them having an almost friendly kind of relationship where they just snark constantly at each other, but maybe not with much venom as with others. John likes to run his mouth (a lot), but he likes it even more when people fight back instead of just blowing him off. Dunno, but sometime we'll throw them together in a thread and see what happens!

Ooh, thought: the tabula rosa plot might actually be a good time to do it. Hmm. *plots evilly*

Oh, he's Louis Garrel, a French actor. Isn't he awesome? He also has a lovely singing voice (warning, that link is probably NSFW, but then what are you doing watching videos at work, hmmm?). I think he's so fantastic. <3

That sounds really interesting and I'd love to try them out together! :) I'm definitely for this. JP likes people who are interesting, first and foremost, and he likes verbally sparring (and physically sparring, too, come to that). During the Tabula Rasa thing sounds pretty cool! We should definitely throw them together and see what happens.
