    Renaissance Fair June 5-7
Hyde Park was already abustle with activity, as the sun began to peep over the horizon at them, wondering why so many were up so early and so eagerly. The answer was simple - the Renaissance Fair had come to town, and everyone was setting up for the day, for visitors would be strolling in at any moment, and they wished to be ready.

There was a main thoroughfare set up for booths, and along this "cobbled" road could be found the following booths and their owners, waiting for business to arrive:

Guido and his wife Martina had a food booth where they sold chicken legs, sausages on sticks, corn on the cob, and beverages in disposable goblets. Across from them, Orchid Dupre, quiet beauty and witch, sold incense, books, herbs and candles, with a warm smile. Next to Orchid was to be found Honest John and his booth which provided land grants and titles - let the buyer beware! Across from him, and next to Guido, was Melissandra's - she was a tall dark haired witch who wore a tall hat upon her head, adorned with two inverted cones from which streamed trails of bright gauze - she made and sold wooden toys and stuffed animals for the young at heart. Beside her was Dreads My Lord - the hairstyling booth - you could even get a tonsure there, if you so desired it. Across from Dreads, next to Honest John's was Goat-boy and his balloon stand - he could make any animals you could imagine with balloons, if you asked him, including a unicorn or a dragon. Don't be afraid him, he doesn't bite - much. Next to him was Frankly My Dear, run by Scarlett and Rhett - any type of clothing you could possibly want at bargain prices! Across from them, and next to Dreads was Knaves R Us, selling armory of all sorts, and to round up the row is Katrinka's booth, where she did makeup for children, stars and moons and anything else they could imagine.

During the course of the weekend, events will be held - this afternoon will be a drinking tournament and a joust. Of course every evening will see a feast to be held in the main tent. And our resident acting troupes will be on hand through the day (and night) - during the day they will dress as medieval residents, to show the visitor how life was lived then (some of them having experienced it first hand), and at night they will perform upon the stage in the Elton John Pavilion.

It promised to be a glorious weekend, the weather was cooperating most kindly, no rain in the forecast, and not overly warm temperatures. Many fairgoers were predicted to attend - human, vampire, and otherwise. Naturally, the human element was mostly unaware of the existence of the others. But it's all good, folks, it's all good.

And now, let the play begin, the curtain rises upon the Fair, enter now the players.
