"Perhaps not," Daisy giggled, taking hold of his chin and pretending to examine his teeth for a moment. "But scurvy was the threat my mum used on my dad when I was little to get him to eat better. And feed me better, for that matter. I'd probably have some kind of horrible deformity if they hadn't met."
It was too bizarre to think about what her life would be like if her parents had never met and fallen in love. The idea of a life without her mum and her siblings and their terribly happy, perfect life was just too foreign.
