Henry kept his deeply untrusting gaze firmly on Edward Rosier for another long moment as he controlled his urge to snarl at the boy for going near Daisy again. How could Daisy have a boyfriend and not tell him? Or at least tell Susan? Was is because she realized how deeply unsuitable the boy was? It wasn't like her to keep secrets from them.
Finally he tore his eyes away in order to turn and scoop up Kathryn and prop her on her hip. "You're not going to starve, wee lassie. Or have you forgotten all about the four different types of biscuits you made with your mum yesterday?"
"But the biscuits aren't heeeeere."
"We're going home to them, silly," Henry laughed, dipping Kathryn until her whining turned to peals of laughter. "Come on, young Master Bones Radford." Crouching down he held out his free arm to Jamie and then stood with a child on each hip. He crossed and kissed Daisy on the cheek. "Be safe, little girl. You let me know if you need anything.
"Of course, Daddy."
Henry turned a disdainful look on the Rosier boy and nodded. "Mr Rosier."
