"But accurate," Remus countered. Watching James, Remus set the bowl down with a silent finite. "It's not hard. Just a simple charm. The trick is to keep it localized to the bowl so that you can only smell it when it's close to your face." Something Remus had clearly forgotten, since James seemed to have noticed. "Here, watch." He put his hand over the bowl and and repeated the charm aloud this time. Then he cancelled it again. "You try."
Teaching his friend the charm was easier to focus on than the possible changes to his cycle. Remus had spent years studying the curse he lived with, it's origins, it's truths, how to manage it. But, this was a situation he had never thought to encounter. After all, who would have thought you could go three months without a full moon? As he'd told Draco, it was the question no one had known to ask. "I don't know. It depends on the bus. It was right before the Full when I arrived on the bus. With no moon in space, the Full in Necrohelm was the first I'd experienced in six weeks. It was a bit tetchy, but not too far from the normal. But, that was around three months ago. The curse doesn't like to be contained that long. It never has been. It will all depend on when the Full is on the worlds we visit, unfortunately. There wasn't one while we were at the North Pole. We just missed it at both ends of the trip. Here, it happened in the middle of the journey. Next time? Who knows."
