"I assumed as much," Remus said. "I think, other than Andromeda and Alphard, he painted the whole Black family with his resentment over what his parents did to him. And Bellatrix was an easy target because she was so close to Voldemort. Finding out she was the one to kill him in our future, probably didn't help matters." Sirius had always had a way of twisting things in his mind until they were at one extreme or the other, good or bad in equally exaggerated measure, with no room for milder in-betweens. "Of course, there are. If something interesting is happening, there might be a chance to throw ourselves brashly into the fray. But, I will concede shielding duties for now, if only because I'm rather certain you'd have to hold me up before I could take that step in the first place today."
Remus smiled softly. "It is what friends do. But, friends should be appreciated for their actions, as well, and not taken for granted." A yawn caught him by surprise, then, but he managed to stifle it in part. "I'm pretty sure they just can't be bothered to use it. I suppose Petunia wouldn't have even known about it to tell Harry, if she'd even cared. Sirius and I probably didn't even think about it, since it seems as basic to use as the fact Padfoot sheds."
Sitting like this, it was easier for him to reach Draco's arm and he laid his hand on the younger man's arm. "I appreciate the idea and sentiment, even if we don't agree."
