"Godric, I hope not. Its going to wreck him as it is." James scrubbed his hand through his hair in a swift, agitated motion. He'd seen enough of Remus' transformations to recognise a particularly bad one, and the howls of a few hours previous were still ringing through his head.
He glanced across at Malfoy as he spoke, not bothering to hide the curious look he was giving him. James couldn't quite figure him out - sure, there was that privileged air to him that he recognised well, both from his own childhood and from others he knew. But there were other things about him which jarred somehow, and were harder to put his finger on.
"Wandless is a pain," he agreed after a second. "I can do some, but not much. I should learn more too, really... the bus get a kick out of making life difficult." Understatement of the year - or maybe the millennium. James fidgeted on the mattress, folding one leg beneath him, then unfolding it again.
