“That sounds plain idiotic to me,” she said thoughtfully. “I mean, who’s worth dying for, really? I can’t even imagine anyone having that much power over me. I can’t imagine allowing anyone to have that kind of power over me.” Though from what Draco was saying, this Roman person was more powerful now, so she supposed it had worked out for the best. Still she couldn’t see how it was worth the risk. “Well, I don’t see how what he looks like determines if he’s a god or not, but I suppose you know him and I don’t.” Again, she wasn’t just going to take Draco at his word. She didn’t take anyone at their word, much preferring to judge for herself. After all, she knew she could count on herself. Not anyone else. “I find it harder to believe that he fell in love, period. Forget the time period. And I assume that the feeling was mutual? I mean, how likely is that? The whole thing seems a little crazy. Was it part of the stuff you were talking about from the North Pole? Are they under a spell?” It seemed as likely as anything else Draco had told her.
“Well, you have always had a soft spot for him. I just don’t agree that he’s the be all and end all of our society,” she said with a bit of a huff. Seriously, Draco could believe what he wanted, but Pansy didn’t have to agree. “Who knows. Our parents always thought they knew best. Sometimes they did, sometimes they didn’t. I guess you’ll never know, especially if we lose all our memories when we go back to our lives.”
Pansy couldn’t help but laugh at that. “Okay, you’ve made your point. Greg is not the brightest, but he still has his uses. What use is a stupid muggle?” Suddenly Pansy was a little annoyed that she hadn’t been able to see more of the bus. “You’ll have to show me this magic room if we are ever returned to the bus. I had all of ten minutes to drop my stuff in that closet they call a room and change into these horrendous muggle clothes before I was dropped into this barren wasteland. That sounds like a much better way to spend my time than this.” She motioned around the area with her hand, indicating the whole sorry area.
She nodded in thanks. She was exhausted after all, and could use a nap at least. “That would be fantastic. I appreciate it.”
