“He tried to eat the conductor?” She could not help the chuckle that left her at that. She thought she might like to meet this sort of vampire. Anyone with the guts to try that sounded very impressive to her. “Oh, I wish I’d been able to see that.” Even more impressive was that this Upir seemed to have learned something. Interesting and handy. She sat down next to Draco on the conjured couch and considered the new information. “Have you spoken to Theo about any of this? Or his the Theo here not a specialist in time magic?” It seemed to her that he might have some ideas considering his area of expertise.
Pansy shook her head. “That is such a disappointment,” she said, sounding disappointed. And it was disappointing. This place was bad enough without finding out that Santa is a jerk. “That sounds really awful. I must admit I’m glad I didn’t have to deal with that. Maybe this bus likes me enough that it didn’t bother to kidnap me until after that was over.” She had to admit to herself that she was surprised to hear that Lupin had helped Draco. Not so much that he would help, the man was a Gryffindor after all, but it seemed just such an unlikely friendship to her. “Well, I’m glad someone was here for you.” She left off the part about still not having a high opinion of the man, but she wasn’t there to start and argument.
“Apparently,” she said sounding as surprised as she felt. Even with all the things they knew as witches and wizards, it had never occurred to her that there was actually other timelines and universes. It had hardly seemed even possible to truly visit another planet, and they all knew those actually existed. The idea that there could be another version of herself walking around that had a different life or different knowledge. Briefly she wondered if there was a world where her mother hadn’t selfishly left her, but she quickly put a stop to that thought process. “I suppose it’s just hard to disconnect from work sometimes. Perhaps I simply work too closely with them, even if it is for a greater purpose.” It had become increasingly more difficult to turn off when she finished a work day. It was part of the reason she had been so looking forward to her weekend of peace and quiet. Well, so much for that. She smirked then. Draco wasn’t wrong, it was nice letting muggles know just how inferior they really were. “This Sabrina sounds quite impressive. I wonder if there is a version of her in our world. I would guess if there is that she’s not British though, or I’m sure we would’ve heard of her.”
Looking at him, she considered that. “Seeing as I’ve only been here a couple of hours at best, I would be perfectly happy to forget all this and go back to my relaxing weekend. She did a double take then. “Astoria Greengrass? Seriously?” She didn’t know Astoria very well, but she had known Daphne quite well. They had mostly ignored her younger sibling though, as sisters tended to do. Or so Daphne had said when she thought her sister was being especially annoying. “I never would’ve guessed.”
Pansy shrugged. “You know most of the classes were quite boring. You can’t blame me for not paying attention to every last detail. Besides, it clearly didn’t hurt. I’m doing quite well in my life, thank you very much.” She gave him her best uppity look, but there was a glint of amusement in her eyes. “It definitely sounds like it could be useful, especially since we’re now dealing with other forms of magic. I’m guessing not all of them use wands. Didn’t you say something about Loki doing wandless and wordless magic?” She knew he’d said something, but it had been such a barrage of information she wasn’t sure she’d heard it all correctly.
