Re: Derek/John
"I'll have to check my schedule with my assistant before I can commit, of course." John waved his hand airily, in a small gesture that still managed to mimic the West Side socialites. "But, I'm sure I can work something out."
Looking his team over, John couldn't really argue much with Derek's assessment. Despite the clothes the bus had provided, it was still very obvious most of them weren't from around there, as the saying went. And then there were those who had opted not to use the clothes provided at all. How they were going to pull this off long-term or with the entire group of them together, he had no idea. Covert was definitely not in their wheelhouse. There wasn't really a good way to respond to the assessment, so he just accepted it with a silent shrug.
"It's Baum, but I don't think so," he supplied with a shake of his head, the one dead straight lie he had to tell for his sake, Derek's sake, and the sake of this timeline's Connor. "Mom doesn't really talk about family much. I get the impression it was just her, even before it all. But, I don't recall hearing the name."
