Re: Group A (Steve, Bucky, Mac, James, Remus, Draco, Cal, Merril) If it all went to Hell... Steve had said. Bucky was pretty sure anything that started with breaking into a work camp was already in Hell and Steve's track record from only getting his target prisoner out and not freeing the whole camp was heavily weighted in favor of getting everyone out. Not that Bucky was going to complain about that part, since he'd been the one in the camp and breaking everyone out gave them the Commandos. He just wasn't betting against Steve pulling off another full breakout.
"Draco's right. Glamours are unlikely to work as they target human perception more than actual transformation," Remus was saying when Bucky tuned back in enough to see if he was clear to go or needed to wait for Steve to argue with the rest of them a bit further on strategy.
"And this is why Steve's sending me to scout ahead. I've got experience with camps like these and parts of me are already metal. So, hopefully, if I'm spotted it confuses them enough for me to get out." And he'd made sure to grab full-fingered gloves for both hands that came up past the wrists to hide any gaps with the long sleeves of his shirt and jacket so the humans who didn't like machines wouldn't try to kill him, either.
Glancing askance at Steve, he raised an eyebrow and nodded toward the bunker. Then, he slipped around the pile of old rebar and concrete they were using for cover and melted into the shadows to do his thing. Steve would have settled how they were getting the group across by the time Bucky got back and then they could get this show on the road.
