"I'm not sure if I'd describe my life as interesting, unless you meant in the Chinese sense of the word," Sabrina giggled, oddly pleased at learning Roman's upbringing was just as screwy as hers. "We'd definitely tie, though it's one contest that I wouldn't mind losing to someone. I mean, what's the prize? Loser pays the winners' therapy bills?" Her eyes softened. "I hope someday you get to meet her, and get her far away from your mothers' influence."
Sabrina bit her tongue at his take on the situation and more specifically her feelings towards him, knowing it was pointless to argue. It wasn't as though it would change anything considering that he made it crystal clear that his heart already belonged to Peter. And she accepted that, in the same way that she accepted their differing experiences colored their definitions of what love truly felt like or how it presented itself.
"I've been rejected before. It would hurt, a lot, but in time it would go from being an intense pain to more of a dull ache. Twice now, I've been in situations where sacrificing myself saved the person I gave my heart to. I did it so that they could go on living, because even if it meant doing so without me, I took comfort in the belief that if we were truly meant for one another we would meet up again in the afterlife." She sighed. "All that being said, I'd like to give it a go. If we're both honest with one another, especially when it comes to either getting bored or finding that kind of all consuming love, then I can't see there being any issues."
