"Oh, I already stopped trying to imagine what things might have been like for you." Zelda once used a childrens' rhyme to cause someone to jump to their death, so Sabrina was aware of how insidious mind control could be. "The only thing more powerful that a pureblooded witch is one with some form of supernatural entity mixed in. I'm the only half-witch, half-celestial, mainly because of how picky Lucifer can be, which is funny since he'll fuck anything that moves but rarely spills his seed. And there's no way in heaven a true angel would ever dirty themselves with a witch."
She gave a one-shouldered shrug. "I don't feel I need to justify what I felt towards an ex to anyone. I've already said the relationship was kind of toxic. Besides, I would never want someone to give up their life just to be with me." She loved Nick as much as she could with her limited frame of reference. She wouldn't make excuses for not understanding just how all consuming real love could be until recently. "You have the courage of your convictions, and you proved that in the North Pole. For what it's worth, I'm sorry the bus didn't bring Peter back."
Sabrina rolled her eyes, jokingly. "Don't make me start singing 'Come What May' from Moulin Rouge, 'cause I totally will." She leaned back against the wall, watching him. "I appreciate that you're trying to protect me, Roman, I really do. And I'm not going to beg, at least not for this. Much as it pains me to say this, I know that I can and will survive if you aren't interested in me." She laughed at his smirk. "It not only solves the feeding situation, but it's also a proven good time for me." She finished her drink before meeting his gaze. "I'm sure, Roman. Although I'm not positive, since only fools are positive. We can't go back and change the past, but we can decide how we want things to proceed going forward, if that makes sense."
