“Right? It just feels like there are too many options to take it lightly,” she said with a shrug.
Mac gave the kid a surprised look. “Damn, that is new. You actually seem to be handling this pretty well then. I flipped the fuck out when I got on board.” Yeah, Mac would bet some serious coin that this kid had seen some shit before. She could admit to herself that she was curious, very curious as he seemed not only young, but normal. She thought it was likely rude to ask though. Instead she just nodded, smiling as she listened to Peter tell his story. She laughed outright at the idea that this was a whole elaborate catfishing debacle though. “If only this was all fake,” she said, still chuckling.
“Oh, I love New York! One of my best friends is living there. She was actually visiting back in Neptune when I got sucked up here. Highly annoying really. I hadn’t seen her in forever. Like five minutes in and I find myself here.” Mac couldn’t stop the frustrated look from crossing her face. Mostly she’d been very happy what with meeting Cal and Merrin, but that didn’t mean she didn’t miss V and Wallace.
