Theo and Open
It wasn't as if the food was better here than anywhere else, but it was quiet this time of day and honestly being on the bus all the time was a little claustrophobic. He was drinking his tea and thinking. Not about anything in particular but letting his mind roam. It was a luxury he enjoyed, and at times longed for the time to think without interruption in completely unfiltered dysconnectivity. The people around him may as well not exist, as he paid them no attention. And wouldn't unless approached. It was a fine day, the weather favorable and he and many others were strewn about. Some with friends or acquaintances and others like himself were seated alone. It was a awfully mundane and typical sort of day.
That was of course until the tell tale sound of explosions could be heard. Theo reached for his wand in time, as the sound began to clearly emanate from his preferred place to grab a lunch. He immediately cast a shielding charm, raising his wand as the blast tore forward. From where he quickly stood to his feet and behind him, unknown to him at the start, he had cast and deflected the blast. As the dust began to clear, he dropped the charm and waved away the dust that filtered in. What lay ahead of him was utter destruction and when he looked back over his shoulder behind him, he saw that in his wake almost like a cone of safety, or the beam of light, triangular in form from where he stood had been protected.
And that had meant the people who had by pure chance had chosen to sit where they had, were completely untouched. While no doubt bewildered, he scanned their faces and found the hints of fear and confusion and knew that he had possibly had gotten more than his usual order today.
Turning on his heel he held his wand firmly in his hand, but kept his arms at his sides. He supposed he could apparate away, but he wasn't sure that would make matters any better. So he stood silent for a moment, and waited until more of the dust settled, and considered his options before he spoke.
"Hello," he said only. Thinking less right now would be far wiser.
