Who: Yelena Belova & Peter Rumancek
When: Sept 9th // May 30, 1909
Where: the streets near Westminster Park
What: exploring the city
Warning: Era discrimination of women, class, gypsies
Yelena arrived after the robot spiders were dealt with, for the most part, but she still found herself at a loss for what was happening.
Ever the enthusiastic seeker of adventures, she had been all too willing to board the strange bus that appeared in front of her. True, she normally would have been more thoughtful about the situation and more carefully considered the ramifications. However, in her defense, she also thought it was a dream. When she woke up in a steampunk version of Victorian London, she wasn't entirely certain that she wasn't still dreaming. But if she were, it was an elaborate one.
It took several days since her arrival before she dared to venture outside of the bus. For the most part, she kept her initial explorations inside the strange, apparently magical vehicle that brought her here. There was everything she could want here. Dining space with everything provided for. Exercise space for her to train and keep fit. Even a movie theater for entertainment. Everything seemed provided for. She had her own private space, Room 27, that looked very futuristic; the setting outside the bus itself, on the other hand, looked decidedly like it was from the past. All in all, not a bad place to be stuck, if she had to be stuck anywhere.
The outfit she pulled on when she visited the large wardrobe room was beautiful, but like she had said to the woman Ariel, it was challenging to breathe. The knee-high stockings she wore ended in laced-up boots, but they were heeled in such a way that it seemed more fashionable than practically. There was also a lot of puffiness and ruffles in places. All in all, she wasn't sure it was the most easy attire to fight in, if the need arose.
As she and her strolling companion walked along the streets, it didn't escape her notice that there were red hand prints on the walls of buildings periodically throughout the city. It also didn't escape her notice that passersby seemed to be sending her companion dirty looks everywhere they went. After a while, curiosity got the better of her.
"Why are they looking at you like that?"
