Re: James & Ginny - 11:50pm, Abigail & Ginny's house.
"Cheers to that," James snorted, catching the flying bottle with reflexes that even a year without quidditch and fighting hadn't managed to kill. He flicked the lid off and held it out to bang gently against Ginny's, lifting it to his lips after the satisfying 'clink' sounded through the kitchen.
He nodded, swallowing with his gaze locked on her profile. James knew the feeling, of course. The ache he felt from missing Harry was almost as steady and consistent as his own heart, at this point. He didn't imagine that was much different, no matter the circumstances. As for the rest of it - James knew he was lucky to have Remus and Sirius here with him. Without them, he'd probably have wandered off into nothing at the first chance he'd got.
"It's crap," he agreed simply. "You can meet people and pile on as many distractions as you want, but it doesn't stop it being completely crap."
James inclined his head a little in a mini bow, shooting her a soft smile over the drink. "Ah, stop it, you flirt. But likewise." He took a sip as she continued, a faint frown suddenly etching itself between his eyebrows.
"The farm?" he asked - although the amount of actual farming that had taken place at that old country estate had been non-existent, unless you counted his parent's potions garden. A slow grin blossomed. "Really? Merlin - that's amazing! I should never have sold the place, really. I was all..." He shook his head with a grimace. "You know. After Mum and Dad died. But then, I guess it saved the Death Eaters the job of burning it down."
