James & Ginny - 11:50pm, Abigail & Ginny's house.
"Boring people who would be forced to hex someone who tried to kiss us at midnight," Ginny corrected him with a flicker of a grin, and threw one of the bottles over to James without warning, the same as she would have done if he were Harry. "They're unscrew opening, no idea why but I'll take it."
She uncapped her own drink, rubbing her fingers around the edge of the bottle as she considered this question. Normally, Ginny had her guard up with new people, no matter how much she liked them; James was different. James wasn't just family, he was Harry's family. "Alright, I suppose. I really miss my kid, but I know he's in good hands with his dad, so that helps," she said, and purposefully did not look over at James, who was — she knew — in a very different circumstance with his child than she was with hers.
"I miss Harry, too, but I'm used to missing Harry — Auror missions, and all that," she said, deciding now was not the time to go into the whole debacle that had been her 6th year. "What's really weird is none of my brothers or my mates being here. Me and Nev — Longbottom —" Ginny tagged on, for James's benefit. "And our other best mate Luna Lovegood, we normally talk at least once a day, no matter what. Same with me and my brother George."
She looked over at James and smiled, genuine but a touch wan. "It's been great meeting you, though. Priceless, really." A thought visibly rippled across her face, as another thing she hadn't told him yet appeared. "We live in your house, now. Where you grew up, I mean — it came on the market and Harry snapped it up."
