"You are confusing adapting with changing. I can adapt just fine. I'm doing well enough. I was adapting in Necrohelm. I refuse to change who I am because I've been kidnapped," he pointed out. "And as I said, there are always Gryffindors that will help, regardless of what I do. In fact, they might be more likely to help me than you, because I don't actively annoy them."
He snorted. "Yeah? Tell that to every wizard and witch that waited for Potter to save the day. Experience teaches me that more people are willing to let others risk their lives instead of endangering theirs."
Draco shook his head. "I don't know, maybe keep staying behind. Maybe convincing people that we shouldn't do what it wants. Maybe instead of finding Santa, we sip eggnog and screw what the bus wants. Maybe if more people were willing to ignore the bus, we'd be sent home, like all the passengers that were on board before us. I certainly will not play house."
