Re: Sirius/Theo.
Theo couldn't really disagree. How people handled a loss or how they react when they lose their footing said more than how they lived when basking in success or had won. He nodded at the implied compliment and lifted his gaze to meet Sirius's when he made his offer. In truth he didn't really know what to do. What he did know was he had been waiting too long and shouldn't have. Leaving seemed like the best course to take.
Christmas was a funny sort of time of year. When everyone is so busy and cozied up at home surrounded by people who cared. Eating dinner and opening gifts and talking about plans for the new year to come. But that was other people. Having always lived a more reclusive lifestyle made being alone not something entirely out of the ordinary. Theo had to admit though, even used to it, Christmas had a fine way of making someone feel alone. In a way few other occasions could. It was however new to feel as if the cosmic wink of Christmas returned it's ill will in turn. And appeared in midair. Life sometimes was a real kick in the arse.
"No," he said calmly. "It is not that I don't appreciate the offer. It is unusually kind. But I like my solitude truth be told. Christmas cheer doesn't resonate well with me. Perhaps we can talk again another time?" He said rising to pull on his overcoat. He supposed he could walk around for a time. Take a little wander before he headed back to his house.
"Send me a message. Or whatever the lingo is," he said with a small smile before turning on his heel and walking off alone.
