Re: Steve/Loki
"Exactly, it's hard to really understand what's happening. When Bucky told me that I didn't go back, I couldn't come up with an explanation of why I wouldn't come back. Nothing makes sense. I can only come up with hypotheses, but I'll never have proof that I'm right. So yes, that's driving me crazy, but as of now, I think that I was old when I got back, because I spent a lot of time on the bus." And unless someone could disprove that theory, he would go with it.
"He doesn't have to talk to me if he doesn't want to. I don't know him, I don't have a history with him, and nothing says that he has to join any team I create," he said. "This isn't me being condescending or putting him on the spot. It's literally me saying that he can do whatever he likes." It was almost like the easier he made things, the more he was misunderstood. "Already, so let's put that past us and blame our very different usage of words for that misunderstanding. So in the name of being clear, would you consider joining a team? You don't even have to answer now. Just think about it." He sighed. "I don't know how to speak differently, but I will try to be clearer in the future."
He nodded. "You're not wrong about religious wars. Too many people like to use religion to get power." He huffed. "I'm not a saint. I'm not going to lie and say that I didn't take a little satisfaction replaying that win, but also it was a reminder of what it took from us. We almost died, Loki. An entire town, eight million people, almost died. That's what I remember about that day. How close we came to losing so many."
