Re: Sleigh 5: Remus and Draco (UTC -1 to +1)
"Then it's a good thing it's okay, isn't it?" Remus asked with one of his soft not-quite-true-smirks. "Close enough to finishing with them," he added gently. "We get Greenland and the others on the way back to the North Pole. If there aren't many on the list, we should still have time to fly over Britain properly." Remus would find a way to make the time, as it seemed to matter to Draco so much. It was the least he could do after all the help Draco had been to him with investigating and procuring the potion from Necrohelm.
Despite the seriousness of the conversation, he smiled softly. "Sounds like what Christmas should have been for a child, at least until your unwanted guest showed up." Somehow, Remus didn't think Voldemort had been the sort to even remember Christmas existed, let alone allow a celebration when it would be a reminder he was not a god. "Cryptically wise or wisely cryptic?" he suggested, though with Dumbledore he suspected the latter more than the former. "It would have to be orchestrated by a similarly powerful legend, I would think." They would need to start thinking in terms of children's tales, perhaps? When they had finished with gift deliveries, it would be time to look into it.
"I'm sure it wasn't." Sirius had never really gotten on with most of his family on any branch that was for sure. "Surreal is...surreal." Remus shrugged. "They are exactly as I remember them. In some ways, it's like now that Sirius and I have talked about what happened none of it actually happened. Business as usual...which isn't usual for me any more. I'm a bit out of practice with their sort of shenanigans, I suppose." Just one more place where Remus just didn't quite fit, despite the best of intentions. It was nothing out of the ordinary for him now.
