Re: Sirius & Remus & James.
"Here," James swung out from the side of the sleigh, grasping the wood with one hand as he leaned over dangerously far, holding the wand out to Remus. "Maybe you'll have better luck with it. Bloody thing's driving me mental."
There was a part of James that wondered if what had happened to him had messed with his magic. If that aching pit in his chest was somehow sending everything wayward. You heard about that happening sometimes. But he hadn't had any problems with Sirius' wand, so hopefully it was just a case of a good workman blaming his tools...
"Well, there's no reason a wand from there is going to mesh with us, is there?" He added, taking Sirius' wand with a silent nod of thanks. "You saw that shielding magic they were using, Moony. Our stuff worked alongside it, but it wasn't seamless."
Jumping down, James swept Sirius' wand in an arching motion over the sleigh, leaving a wispy, periwinkle blue cloud hanging behind it. It floated down slowly, pooling against a few spots on the wood that James stepped closer to inspect.
"'Didn't eat his vegetables' or 'inbuilt obsession with blood purity' kind of thing, you mean?" He asked, his face inches from the painted grain. James pushed his glasses up his nose thoughtfully before pressing his fingertips against a whirling knot in the wood. "How would he even know? Maybe he's got his own version of the Quill of Acceptance - that'd be worth a peek. Do you need this, Pads?"
