The more Natasha relaxed, the more Loki felt himself doing the same. He figured he'd probably always be a little on-guard with any of the Avengers and their friends, it would always be possible that the Captain could sway them to his views, but for now he was more than willing to accept that they could at least be friendly.
"I can agree with that sentiment," Loki said, voice more sober now after his laughing fit. "I probably should be dead a thousand times over. Even times when the things I did wouldn't have lead directly to my demise, I'm sure there are many times when people would have killed me if they had the chance." He shrugged then. He couldn't control how people reacted to his actions, and he didn't do things like that anymore. "I've been very lucky to avoid execution."
Looking at her consideringly, he said somewhat thoughtfully, "this has turned into quite the depressing conversation. Surely you've had some good times as well."
