Re: Theo and Loki
"That's true. I do wonder how far that extends though," he mused aloud. He supposed they may have a higher tolerance to pain than most, but pain you chose and pain you don't plan for are very different indeed. He couldn't help but laugh and looked at the children playing and running about. Children were better seen and not heard, or so he was raised to believe and taught as much. Children were something he wasn't used to being around, but he didn't care really. They weren't why he came and weren't much on his radar. "Then we go where there are less little people," he suggested.
Before they left he was going to have to stock up at the cafe, he thought while taking a few small sips. Loki seemed to enjoy it as well and that was a relief. He seemed more relaxed than he had in days. If even for the night or only a few hours, it felt good to see Loki being himself. "This is as good a time as any to learn, isn't it?" He said with a returned wink of his own. "I happen to be an excellent case study."
While very much enjoying the moment as they walked along he still kept out a watchful eye as the trod deeper into the woods. He could hear rustling in the trees and frantic footsteps cracking branches and forest debris under foot. "I don't have much in the way of friends back home," he said to answer. "Aside from Draco, the rest of the people here are not people I know. I know of, obviously. But I am very much where I want to be and with who I want to be," he said with a smile and edged in closer to Loki as they walked along. "I feel safer here with you. I'd just fly over it all an watch otherwise."
The particulars of the fight that happened between Draco and Loki he didn't know all of. He knew one half to be sure, and he'd find out the other half in time. He nodded and smiled softly. "I know." He said and offered a smile of reassurance. The only thing he felt about it was regret, the regret that he hadn't been there to ease things along. Not that he was ever very good at being a consolatory figure in any capacity, but still. It might have gone a bit smoother.
"Draco and I have been friends since we were small children. I know he can be challenging," he said with a small shrug. Maddening too, he thought but didn't add. That was one of the things he liked about him in all truth. He was who he was, and Theo was who he was. They didn't always agree but they were friends all the same. "I wish things had gone smoother," he said a little quietly. "I think that ship has sailed and there isn't much to be done about it now." He said but hoped otherwise.
