Re: Steve/Tony
"You'd never," he said, laughing. "I don't know where I could have gotten that idea." He looked at Tony fondly. They were very different people that the men who met on that helicarrier. Steve wouldn't have trusted Tony to pick toilet paper back then, and now he trusted him with his life.
He grinned. "It would be. Thor would be so disappointed that he's not the only one who can lift it."
He knew what Tony was saying, but this had nothing to do with age. His first thought was always about bigger than life enemies that most humans couldn't fight. "Far from me to tell anyone not to stand up for what's right, but if there are aliens or generally things that can easily squash a human being, instead of running and hide, promise me to run and find your suit. Then you can fight them, okay?' He was not going to let Tony die on his watch again.
His expression changed and he wanted to bang his head against the wall. "What is it with you and Bucky defending Loki. Am I the only one who remembers what he did to Thor before he even tried to take over earth? I don't care what he is, I don't care how old he is. I was fighting a war in my 20s. Bucky was fighting a war in his 20s. Plenty of actual teenagers were fighting a war. The fact that he finds excuses means that he's not reliable, and you should know more than anyone else that I don't want people who aren't reliable on my team. You're either all in or you're out. Loki will never be all in, not even in another thousand years."
