Re: Ariel/Cal
"You're confusing not caring and the need to have meetings in person." Cal tried to explain. "Because I do care for people and the betterment of people." Of course as she nonchalant dismissed that the Republic, as flawed as any gathering of people were, was at fault for the fall of their own society. She was trying to understand what was decades of plans and shadow work in a mere handful of minutes, and dismissing tragedy that people faced. "How many people was in your kingdom?" Cal asked genuinely. "Because the Republic Senate which made up of hundreds of different systems and planets had to come to terms and agreements peacefully together for billions of people. I don't claim to have all the answers, and I never will- but I can't see a possibility to meet and know the needs of every planet ever. It's just unrealistic. Especially as one ruler could. The Republic had elected officials, not handed down same as a monarchy." Of course, this why the Jedi didn't deal in politics or politicians, Cal was quickly learning.
The topic of Jedi being a religion was an interesting take that he would mediate on later. It wasn't something he particularly considered in deep thought. "What's a church?" Cal asked politely, not entirely understanding what the comparison was being made.
Raising both hands. "I wasn't meaning offense, I apologize." Cal stated. "But I'm not sure what mystical force you're referring too. There isn't a conversation being had," He paused. "I have read in some old text that Jedi had found methods to commune with the dead, but it's not as if someone is whispering in my ear." He tried to explain. "The Force is simple something that every living being gives off, and I can access." He tried to think how better he could explain why sometimes just feeling out with the Force, he knew to take a left to find an eatery on some strange ship he never been on before. Cal certainly wasn't about to show the Force in action to Ariel.
