Re: Ariel/Cal
Now that was a difference. Cal growing up spending so much time who knows how far from each other, that there was no chance to see face to face. There was times other padawan that he grew up with, he hadn't seen in months, until happenstance brought their masters to the same planet or station and they were able to see each other. Of course, with holograms, you could see people. Casually Cal shrugged. "I can see reason for it." Even though Cal hadn't a desire for it intimately.
"Well, before the Empire, each planet ruled their own ways, but there was a grander senate that each planet was part of. Politics..." He paused. "I don't know too much. When the Republic fell, I was still just a boy. The Empire though- they ruled through force and power." He frowned. It was what it was in his life, even if there were a number of people who might have been possibly trying to fight back against the oppression of the Empire. He at least hoped.
Cal remained passive, not aiming to insult. "I don't know what a mermaid is, but what I can say- not all humans seek out to destroy or take more than needed." He commented. "Jedi were taught to use only what is needed. We're not supposed to have excessive worldly possessions. Clothes on our back, lightsabers- some a little more or less. Corruption can start from the excessive need for material items. Which leads to greed, which leads to hatred, which leads to the darkside." Cal commented. "All living things need very definitive respect and care, we're all apart of a bigger circle of life." It was simple to Cal, even if he might have had more possessions than the typical Jedi.
"I wouldn't know, for sure." Cal commented. In recent times, he questioned some of the Jedi teachings, but he adhere to most of them. One mustn't pick and choose, but in the same light- one in his situation paved his own path. "I wouldn't know if you rushed or not, but what I can say, the path was presented and you followed it- which made you who you are in this moment here, and that says something." A smile crossed his lips. "I will look forward to our many conversations in the future."
Shaking his head. "I assure you, if I had know such songs, I would happily partake in festivities." He smiled politely.
