Re: Loki/Bucky
"You wouldn't be wrong to doubt. Media personas are rarely the truth," Bucky agreed. He didn't even need to consider modern media. He knew that from watching the birth of 'Captain America'. "And Stark is more complicated than most celebrities. If I had to guess, though, I'd say being a father is part of what changed him. My parents always used to say people see life differently once they have kids." He huffed softly. He'd never thought to have kids of his, never planning on really settling down unless he and Steve were raising theirs together.
Chuckling, Bucky looked around at what he could see of the stars through what windows were in the bar. "Being so close to space is one of the highlights of all this," he said. "There's something calming about looking out and knowing that the universe is so expansive and I'm just a tiny speck by comparison. Well, and you might have guessed after the spiders that I love technology. I used to drive Stark's father nuts during the war always poking into his workshop just to see what he was working on."
Oh, now, that flush was just perfect and Bucky couldn't help the deepening of his smirk. "Good for you both. And I've got two friendly ears you can use whenever you need. But, you don't have to censor your words about Steve with me as long as you're not outright attacking him without warrant. He's my best friend. I love him. But, I'm not blind to his faults. I've always seen him for who he is and not the legend." He sighed. "I guess that's why this is throwing me. Steve can be a bit much when he thinks he knows what the right thing is. He's very...black and white. But, once you earn his trust and loyalty, he will literally walk, or jump, through fire for you. He has never given up on anything as long as I've known him, not even when he was a scrawny kid with a list of medical issues longer than my arm. And he's never given up on me, even when I was ready to give up on myself. The way he disappeared...it felt like he gave up."
