Re: Steve/Yelena
"She had a lot of friends. She might not admit it, because that would mean that she had opened up, but she did. Clint, of course, but I'd like to think that we formed a close bond working together." Natasha had always been there for him and he hoped that he'd done the same with her. "And you're right, family is a better term. Even when we disagreed, rather violently and publicly, we were still family." Steve laughed. "Of course, her inability to believe that you could give out information without being weak or exposing yourself."
He missed her dearly. Losing people was part of his life, but Natasha's death made even more of an impact now that Tony was here. "Bucky will tell you that I'm a little crazy, always hoping even when there's no hope. People told us to stop looking for ways to bring people back and move on. We - Natasha and I were stubborn. Move on, but also keep looking for ways to bring people back. I know that it's just as hopeless now, but Tony came back. Maybe she will to. I can hope."
Steve didn't like the past tense, even if accurate, but maybe only temporarily so. "Clint- He was her best friend. The two of them loved each other in a way that's rare in the spy world. Not romantically, but like family. She was the only one who knew about his family for a long time. He's the one that helped her go legit. One of the two had to give up his or her life to get the stone. Natasha sacrificed hers so he could go back to his family."
